Education
Stop motion is a great way of educating as it is enjoyable content for a lot of people, mainly young children. This means that young children will happily watch it and still learn at the same time which they won’t understand they are doing. This can be on YouTube or even TV shows. Examples of educational stop motion consist of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao8L-0nSYzg which is an animation that provides education on addiction.
A lot of animators will subtly input educational factors into their animation as it shows that stop motion can be used as educational content as well as entertainment content. Early man is a great example of animation that teaches people as it shows how cave men use to live as well as providing entertainment.

Entertainment
Image result for fantastic mr fox gifEntertainment is stop motion animations main priority. It was invented for people to watch and enjoy. This is because it provides an alternate reality to the modern day and the possibilities of it are endless, you can have the ability to animate anything that your heart desires and a lot of the time at least one person will find it entertaining. There have been many entertaining stop motion animations over the past few years consisting of Wallace and Gromit or Fantastic Mr. Fox which has created a big reputation for stop motion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXYNHHj4KDw&t=35s Wallace and Gromit the curse of the Were-Rabbit is the highest viewed of the Wallace and Gromit films which proves how many people find animation as a form of entertainment.

Informing
Animation can also be used to inform people on many political problems in the world. A great example of an animator who addressed many political problems during the Nazi reign is Jan Svankmajer. This is great for informing people as it can catch people eyes easily and get someone’s attention so that they actually watch it and they will get informed about this information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI00Daqxw8w Jabberwocky is a great animation that was made for informing.

Task 1 – Developers Ray Harryhausen Ray Harryhausen was born in Los Angeles and grew up with a love for dinosaurs and fantasy, his parents later on encouraged his interest in films and model making. He was inspired by the cinematic effects that were used in King Kong and The Lost world. After seeing these two films he began experimenting with Stop-Motion animation in his parent’s garage. Assignment 1 - (Techniques and Formats)

Task – 2 Time-Lapse Time-lapse is where the frequency of the images is captured much lower than what is used to view the sequence.   This technique is stop motion as the pictures are repeatedly taken so there is very minimal movement between each frames and then they are played on a very high frames per second so there is the illusion of movement. A good example of a time-lapse is this  kidney bean  plant growing over the course of many days. Claymation Claymation is a form of stop-motion animation that uses clay made characters or backgrounds. This is great for stop-motion as they can be easily manipulated and can be made to do almost any action possible as the clay that is used to make it all is extremely malleable.
