Tim Burton

Image result for tim burtonImage result for tim burton's animationsTim Burton originally worked for Disney in his younger years as an animator but left as he felt it was too boring for him. After making some short films like Frankenweenie in 1984 Burton felt that he wanted to go into directing. His first box office success came from the short animated film Pee-Wees big adventures in 1985 which led to him creating darker films like Beetle juice in 1988. He then became an established film maker and move to directing more mainstream movies like Batman in 1989 and Batman returns in 1992. Burton was also responsible for the design of a nightmare before Christmas which was released in 1993. In 1990 Tim Burton first collaborated with Johnny Depp which led to a great relationship as Johnny Depp would feature in more films that Burton directed. Burton has directed many other big films that people enjoy to this day and he is still directing films. The type of films that Burton directs appeals to a wide audience as there are films that young children can watch alone but there are also films that they should watch with an adult, there are also films that are great to watch with the entire family. Most of the films that Tim Burton directs are mainstream films as he has made a name for himself so now he comes with a big expectation of creating a good animated film. Corpse bride (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGACeWVdFqo)  is a great example of a newer film that Tim Burton has directed as it feature Johnny Depp and it is a great example of films that you can watch as a family and it shows how far animation has come. Most of Tim Burtons films are not as family friendly as Nick parks. This is shown through BeetleJuice is rated as a 15 on bbfc which shows that it is more for the older audiences. In opinion I'm not a great fan of Tim Burtons films as they show more of a dark tone unlike Nick Parks which have a happier and more upbeat tone.

Nick Park
Image result for Nick park workImage result for Nick parkNick park is a British animator who created the characters of Wallace & Gromit. He had an early ability to draw and by the age of 13 he was animating using his mother’s camera where he created Walter the rat. At the age of 15 one of his homemade films was shown on BBC after he entered a young animators film competition. It was his first 35-mm film that caught the attention of the Aardman founders who were reviving clay animation. His animation A grand day out was nominated in 1991 for an academy award for best short animation. His two Wallace and Gromit films The wrong trousers and A close shave both won Oscars. In 2005 Nick Park brought Wallace and Gromit to a full length animated film in The curse of the Were-rabbit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXYNHHj4KDw) which one the academy award for the best animated feature film in 2006. Because of Nick Parks works on clay animation it started to become very popular and people enjoyed to watch it so companies like Aardman still produce clay animation to this day. In my opinion I enjoy all of Nick parks animations as they are easy to follow and the story lines of them are extremely entertaining. Nick Parks target audience for his films is aimed more towards the younger ages and family's as on bbfc Wallace and Gromit - A Close Shave is rated a U which shows the different target audiences for each of them. All of Nick Parks work is made out of claymation animation which is amazing for how smooth his films run and have very natural human movements.
